Mildred Rousey along with her husband Patrick Allen Rousey played an important role in the establishment of the Rousey Reunions held in Kentucky every four years beginning in 1984.

MILDRED’S OBITUARY

Mildred Hill Rousey, 82, of Danville passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021.  She was born February 11, 1938, in Danville to the late Claude and Rachel Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Patrick Allen Rousey; grandson, Brian Lane; sister, Nanny Goodlett, and brothers, Claude Hill, Jr. and Donald Hill. 

She attended school in Danville, Middletown, Ohio, A-Pass Weikel Institute, Dale Carnegie where she was a graduate assistant for several classes, and Somerset Community College.

She was a member of Indian Hills Christian Church. 

She was an assistant manager for Jerry’s Restaurant, physical therapy assistant for First PT Clinic, assistant to Dr. F.A. Martin in Danville, office manager and realtor for Coldwell Banker/VPI.

She is survived by her children: Tony (Becky) Rousey of Maryland, Kenny (Pam) Rousey of Moreland, Sherry (David) Anderson of Danville, and Judy Lane of Liberty; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Honoring her wishes, she will be cremated and have a private burial in the family cemetery at the Rousey Homeplace in Butchertown.  A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heritage Hospice of Danville.
