Directions from points north via Danville and Junction City should follow the detailed maps link. The mapquest instructions fail to mention that you reach HWY 37 by turning right on HWY 300 and left onto 37 just past the railroad tracks.
Directions to farm via Hustonville
- From north, take 127 south to Highway 78. Turn west (right) at the gas station/convenience store.
- From Liberty (south), take 127 north to Hustonville.
- Turn left going west on HWY 78 at the gas station/convenience store.
- Once on Highway 78 West Go 0.8 miles.
- Turn right just before a bridge, onto Black Pike. Go 0.5 miles on Black Pike to Maxey Valley Road.
- Turn left on Maxey Valley Road and go 0.7 miles.
- Turn right on Carter School Road and go 1.4 miles to Butchertown Road.
- Turn left on Butchertown Road and go 4.3 miles (road goes up a hill and curves around it to the Butchertown and is narrow in places). Stay on the paved road.
- Turn right up the hill to the Rousey Homeplace just before a bridge. There are fieldstone posts at the entrance.

The Rousey Home Place is in central Kentucky, about 50 miles SSW of Lexington.

It is about 15 miles SSW of Danville, KY and somewhat near
the towns of Junction City and Hustonville.

It is just outside of an area called Butchertown near the county lines of Casey and Boyle.

Junction city is just south of Danville on 127. From Junction City you
would take 37 for about 8 miles and turn left on Carpenter Creek Road
right after an old country store on your right. Take Carpenter Creek Road
about 2 miles to the Boyle / Casey County line and the farm is up a
hill to left just past a small bridge.

Coming North on 127 through Liberty you would go to Hustonville and
take a left on 78. You would go one mile and take a right before
a small bridge onto Black Pike Road. Follow that for a about 1 mile
and take a left on Maxey Valley Road After a few hundred yards or so,
be sure to turn right onto Carter School Rd and continue to follow this road. Continue on until
you are able to take a left on Butchertown Road. You will follow
Butchertown Road for 4.17 miles over some hills and valleys. The
Rousey Home Place will be on your right just before a small bridge.

The Old Rousey Homeplace is located on the Boyle / Casey County
line on Carpenter Creek and Butchertown Rds. These roads are
essentially the same road. Take the rock entrance up the hill. Once
on top you can take the left fork in the road to get to the Rousey Cabin.
